Maximizing ESP Life Through Autonomous Action with Guard X
Predicting a failure is only half the battle; the ultimate goal is to proactively prevent it. This is where Guard X transforms predictive insights into instant, autonomous action.
Instead of simply sending a dashboard alarm and waiting for a human operator to respond, Guard X operates as an intelligent, closed-loop control system. It automatically adjusts the ESP's operating parameters in real-time to save the equipment:
If Guard X predicts Asphaltene Deposition
Before the buildup becomes critical, Guard X can automatically interface with the chemical injection system to release targeted solvents or dispersants, clearing the blockage on the fly without stopping the pump.
If Guard X predicts Downthrust Wear
Recognizing that the pump is operating dangerously to the left of its Best Efficiency Point (BEP), Guard X instantly and autonomously adjusts the Variable Speed Drive (VSD) frequency. This safely brings the pump back into its optimal operational range, saving the thrust bearings from destruction.
If Guard X predicts Gas Lock
Instead of letting the motor overheat from a lack of fluid cooling, Guard X automatically modulates the VSD to initiate a gas-clearing routine (such as "rocking" the frequency) to help the pump digest the gas slug smoothly and re-establish normal flow.
